Rock Hound State Park

Located on the rugged slope of the Little Florida Mountain range is the Rockhound State Park. Named after people who search the land for precious stones, the area is known to have an abundance of agates and quartz crystals. Several hiking trails also provide spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, and an easy means of taking pictures and witnessing gorgeous New Mexico sunrises and sunsets. Bike trails are also available, as are several winter activities and a small nearby swimming beach.
